We are very lucky to have good contacts with the small town of Alfeld in central Germany. With the help of our good friend Willy Flick and Hans-Gunter Scharf, we have toured this beautiful area of the world 12 times since 1975. The area is famous for the fairey tale of Snow white and the seven dwarves, resident in the nearby Playing in Hildesheimhills. The area is also famous for the pied piper of Hamlin, a town which we have performed at for several years.

A typical 10 day tour may involve 6 concerts in several towns, always with full and enthusiastic audiences. We play at private festivals and celebrations, town squares, and occasionaly at big events such as the 1st World war commemorations for Arnhem, Holland.

The last nights concert in Alfeld town square (come rain or more usually shine) is always packed with hundreds of revellers (700 in 2006), and often finishes after sunset! The stops are pulled out and fireworks have provided added noise. This concert has been broadcast over the internet for the past couple of years on the Alfeld town website (link). Perhaps the most memorable thing about open air town square concerts is the relaxed atmosphere and sense of enjoyment.

The tour is also a great social occasion, with many of the local Beers sampled. We get invited to several Barbeque's throughout the tour, with plenty of BratWurst and on occasion even roasted Boar. The last night is generally themed, be it 70's or drag (taking part is not compulsory!) and provides a great finish to the week.
