The band has recorded 2 CDs in recent times, both of which are shown below and can be purchased! |
| |
| Metropolitan Brass Volume 1 |
This is the first Cd that the band has produced for several years, and as such we decided to show the listener the wide range of musical styles that the band plays in a typical concert. The playlist includes the contest march Knight Templar, used often at the Whit friday and Easingwold march contests, and pieces written for, and by members of the band including Jessica Rose (written for previous Baritone player Helen Lyons daughter) and The Metropolitan (a rhapsody on Ilkley Moor Bart'at, written by a previous conductor of the band, Steven Wood). For a taste of the Bands hometown, we finish with Onward Christian Soldiers, written in Horbury close to where the band rehearses.

Metropolitan Brass Volume 2 |
The second volume of Metropolitan Brass, this Cd highlights the band soloists and some of the bigger pieces the band play on a concert stage.Soloist pieces range from the traditional, the "triple tonguing Polka" Ida and Dot, to the contemporary "A time for piece" by prolific composer Peter Graham, and a Bagpipe solo written specially for the band which was premiered at the wedding of a band member. Film music from Batman by Danny Elfman is a very atmospheric piece, while the finale, Friedemann's Slavonic rhapsody number 2 provides a rousing Russian end to the Cd, highlighting in particular the technical ability of the Cornet section. |
